E-Books, E-Pub
About e-Books
An e-Book is an electronic version of a book. You can download e-Books to your personal computer, smartphone, or handheld reading device. eBooks are normally less expensive, because even though most of production costs remain (editing, layout, cover art, etc.), there aren’t any printing, shipping, or storage costs.
eBook Conversion Services
Creating an e-Book requires the expertise of a professional, and without this, the quality of the eBook would be lost. We know what you–the publisher or author–have invested in the design of books to incorporate good layout and typography. By using the latest features of e-Book software, along with our existing publishing and graphic design skills, we can retain or modify many of the existing design features you had in the original paper book.
Our service includes full management of the eBook process, taking it entirely off your hands. We are also able to advise on e-Book distribution if you’re not quite sure how to go about this (ideal for authors).
Format Options
Book layouts can be output in EPUB, Mobi, and PDF formats. These are industry standards for producing documents with text that re-flows automatically to fit different screen dimensions.
So, which format, for which device? Here are some common ones:
For iPhone/iPod Touch/iPad Users: ePub (Open e-book) is the format of choice. You can download Adobe Digital Editions, which will allow you to read e-books on your desktop (Mac or PC), iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad (it’s free!). Click Here to download
For Nook, Sony Reader, Kobo, and Android/Aldiko Users: ePub is the format of choice.
For Kindle, Palm OS, Pocket PC, Handheld PC, Windows CE, or EPOC Users: The file of choice is mobi. You can also read PDFs on your Kindle, but we don’t recommend it.
For Windows PC, Windows Tablet, or Mac Users: We recommend PDF. To read PDF files, you can download Adobe Digital Editions Here (it’s free!).
